I am skilled in working with all manner of social media. From Facebook to Twitter to Instagram, I can create a strategy to boost engagement and followers. Each platform requires a different skill set to get the best results. Using built-in tools for each platform and social media management tools such as HootSuite and Buffer help to keep posts consistent and monitor performance.

Alternatober

Alternatober utilized a Facebook community to connect and inspire participants. Posts were also cross-utilized on Instagram. Beyond prompts, I showcased inspirational quotes, a variety of creative media to explore, and featured artwork and the creators.

A bold color palette with an upbeat, encouraging tone were the overarching themes for the project. I used a combination of stock images and photographs I took when images were needed. Geometric shapes and a touch of handcrafted artsiness was the theme throughout all posts, reflecting the goal of inspiring creative endeavors in any medium a participant chose. Pinterest boards featuring inspiration, worksheets, prompts, and other resources both created for the art challenge and across the internet.

A combination of Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest accounts were used for this campaign. Content was scheduled using the Later and Buffer apps, to ensure posts went out on schedule at times most likely to gain attention.

Roller Coaster Book Club Social Circle

Running an online book club with people not only in multiple states, but several countries, required a unique method of connecting members. Rather than pushing for a single meeting time, discussions were held in a Facebook group, over the course of several themed question posts spread out over a few days at the end of the month. This forum-style discourse allowed readers to come in at a time that was convenient to them while still generating thoughtful conversation.

Beyond the book club conversations, posts to this group included links to relevant articles, lighthearted memes, and contests to encourage interaction and entice new members to the group. Voting was held periodically to decide on which books the group was interested in reading and in what order.
